BACKCOUNTRY RUNAWAY
BACKCOUNTRY RUNAWAY
EarthWalker Primitive Expeditions
Minimal Gear. Ancestral Skills. Trails Worth Walking.
EarthWalker Primitive Expeditions offer a return to what matters — a quiet, grounded approach to backcountry travel built on primitive skills, minimal modern gear, and deep connection to place.
These are not classes or guided hikes.
There is no curriculum. No instructor. No packaged experience.
Each expedition is a raw and intentional journey into wild terrain — from the high ridges of Montana’s Tobacco Root Mountains to remote desert basins and forgotten trails of the American West. You’ll walk with what you carry and live by what you know, combining ancestral skillsets with modern resilience.
We keep our groups small — typically no more than 5 — to protect the experience and foster real connection. The pace is slower, the loads are lighter, and the campfires run deep. You’ll share the trail with others who feel the same pull — toward stillness, challenge, and something older than modern life.
Expect to sleep on the ground, tend primitive fire, gather wild water, and rely on tools made from earth and bone as much as those made from steel. This is where skill becomes story — where the trail becomes teacher.
If you’re seeking a primitive backpacking adventure rooted in self-reliance, land-based knowledge, and quiet companionship, you’re in the right place.
This is EarthWalker.
Every step is a return.
